Taking Change to Heart

A 10-Week Program for Cardiovascular Health

Join the experts at Duke Integrative Medicine for a series of engaging, informative and life-changing sessions that can help you change the course of your health. Taking Change to Heart is a 10-week program for you or someone you love who is at risk for or who has a diagnosis of high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity or cardiovascular disease.

Integrative medicine strategies for health heart have been extensively researched, and results demonstrate their powerful effectiveness.  In a supportive group setting at our state-of-the-art healing environment, you will learn not only what to do to support your heart health but also how you can make changes that work for you in your life.

Program participants will be guided to set and prioritize individualized, realistic goals for behavior change, so you can reduce your current or future risk of cardiovascular disease.  Along the way, you will learn how:

  • nutritional choices can improve cholesterol and reduce inflammation.
  • mindfulness meditation and stress reduction techniques can lower blood pressure.
  • mindful eating strategies can be effective tools for weight management.
  • increasing physical activity in your life can be a realistic goal - no matter how busy you are.
  • maintaining a circle of support among friends and family can positively affect your heart health.
  • mindfulness skills can serve as the foundation for supporting the maintenance of behavior change.
